Overview of FTP / FTPS Integration

Connect to FTP servers and web hosting accounts, in plain FTP or FTPS (implicit or explicit TLS).

  • Plain FTP, implicit FTPS and explicit FTPS
  • Option to disable EPSV for servers that require it
  • Folder comparison and mirroring with synchronizations (Pro)

How to connect FTP / FTPS in Ultra Explorer

  1. Choose FTP

    Select FTP from the Protocols category.

  2. Enter host access

    Enter your FTP server address, username and password.

  3. Enable TLS

    Leave the TLS box checked for a secure transfer.

Server Host / IP

Required. Remote hostname, domain name, or IP address of the server.

Username

Login username or email address for the account or server.Default value: anonymous

Port

Optional. Network communication port for the service.Default value: 21

Password or application password for the account or server.

Implicit FTPS (FTP over TLS)

Optional

tls= false

Optional. Enables TLS encryption immediately upon connection establishment (typically port 990).Default value: false

Explicit FTPS (AUTH TLS)

Optional

explicit_tls= false

Optional. Negotiates TLS encryption after initial plaintext greeting (recommended for modern servers on port 21).Default value: false

Disable EPSV

Optional Advanced Option

disable_epsv= false

Optional (Advanced). Disables Extended Passive mode (EPSV) in favor of standard PASV to resolve firewall issues.Default value: false
